On March 26 and 27, 2026, our campus had the pleasure of welcoming students and staff from Collège Saint-Jean – Okaibe for a dynamic and enriching orientation day. This visit was designed to introduce the students to the Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBT), offering them a comprehensive glimpse into our academic programs, campus life, and educational environment.
The day began with the arrival of the EB7 group, followed later in the morning by the EB8 group, and the next day by the EB9 group bringing together more than 160 students in total. From the outset, careful planning and coordination ensured a smooth and engaging experience for all participants.
Students were divided into smaller groups and guided through a structured rotation across the campus. During these sessions, they explored a variety of specialized workshops and facilities, including Mechanical and Industrial labs (MI/ELI), Hotel Management, Gym and Multimedia Arts, as well as outdoor activity areas. Each stop provided students with hands-on exposure and live demonstrations, allowing them to better understand the technical and vocational pathways offered at DBT.
Our dedicated staff and instructors played a key role in this experience. They were not only presented the different majors but also shared insights into the practical skills students acquire, the career opportunities available, and the unique Don Bosco educational approach, one that emphasizes both professional excellence and personal development.
In addition to the academic exploration, the visiting students were introduced to the spirit of life at DBT. They discovered a community that values discipline, creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. Through interactions with staff and glimpses of student life, they were able to envision themselves as part of this environment in the future.
Overall, the orientation day was a great success. It provided Saint-Jean students with valuable insights to help guide their future educational choices, while also showcasing the strengths and values of DBT. We look forward to welcoming many of them again … this time as future students.
